Another Construction Accident Takes the Life of a 30-Year-Old Worker
In a recent construction accident, a 30-year-old worker fell 8 stories from a building on East 76th street near Third Avenue. According to police sources, the worker fell from the 10th floor and landed on the second-floor scaffold and lost his life.
The young man was immediately taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell but doctors were unable to save his life.
The NYPD and city Buildings Department are currently investigating the accident and have confirmed that there were posted documents indicating that the facade and roof of the building were permitted for construction work.
A representative for the building owner refused to comment on the accident. Accidents like this have become far too common in our city and legislatures need to take notice and implement more stringent regulations at construction sites.
